Why Are Other Ingredients Added in Your Chebe Powder?
Almost one year has almost passed since Chebe made a hit on Youtube, and no doubt, we should all have 30 inches hair by now right?. However, from the reviews of various women who have used Chebe Powder since the release of the viral video, many noted that, although their hair felt stronger and thicker, there was no extreme difference in the speed of their hair growth. Other women mentioned that the Chebe Powder damaged their hair and they experienced more breakage.
There are some explanations as to why different people experienced positive results and others experienced negative results.
Firstly, the increased thickness of the hair experienced after using Chebe Powder is due to the powder residue being left in the hair. With every use, each hair strand becomes more coated with the Chebe powder, thus protecting the hair. However, the protection of the hair when using Chebe powder is not due to Chebe nourishing the hair, but simply coating it. In other words, your hair is not nourished from the inside – it is simply coated with Chebe. This means that as time goes by, the hair may become extremely coated, to the point that moisture cannot enter. This may eventually lead to breakage and damage. For this reason using Chebe alone is not always a good idea, especially for those with low porosity hair.
To avoid breakage, add water into your chebe mixture, not just oils. This will ensure your hair is getting all the moisture it needs.
The second reason we advise not using Chebe Powder alone is because we have undergone extensive research on the ingredients added in the Chebe Powder from Chad. Our findings revealed that using Chebe Powder alone does not grow hair any faster than your normal hair growth speed. This is simply because hair grows from the scalp, and it has been advised to not apply Chebe to the scalp to avoid dandruff.
We conducted two hair growth tests over the course of 2 months. One test was with only Chebe Powder, whilst the other test included a small amount of Chebe Powder, Cassia Obovata Powder and Vitamin B Complex. Hair growth speed of approximately one centimeter a week was observed when only a small amount of Chebe was combined with larger amounts of Cassia and Vitamin B Complex.
But when using only Chebe Powder alone, no extra growth was noticed on top of the normal hair growth speed. When combined with Cassia, Chebe can be even more beneficial to strengthening the hair.
The addition of other ingredients such as Cassia, actually aids with faster hair growth. Cassia Obovata is well known as one of the best herb for growing natural hair, along with Fenugreek, Rosemary and Nettle. When compared to Chebe Powder, Cassia works faster at growing and strengthening natural hair. This is because Cassia slightly raises the cuticles, enabling hair to be nourished from the inside, not just with coating the hair. At the same time Cassia also smoothens the cuticles, thus preventing wear and tear. When combined with liquid Vitamin B Complex, it is very likely that you will see at least one centimeter hair growth a week.
We have also included other ingredients in our Chebe mix like Black Benniseed, as we observed that the neighbouring tribes of the Basara Arabs in Chad use different variations of Chebe powder, depending on what ingredients are available to them. For example, the Tuareg tribe use Black Benniseeds, whilst the Nougara Arabs in Sudan use Sidr Powder (Christthorn), or Cassia Obovata. All of these tribes have long, healthy hair.
The Importance of Adding Cassia Powder to Your Chebe Powder Mix
With cassia, hair becomes bright, soft, conditioned and strong. This plant not only coats the hair strands, it heals the hair from the inside, as well as smoothing the cuticles. If you have damaged hair, or just want a healthy treatment, cassia obovata is an excellent herb.
The hair and tips are favoured when using Cassia by “repairing, nourishing and rebuilding”, the hair keratin. Cassia does not penetrate the stem, but covers the outer cuticle with a protective layer and corrects the problems of porosity of the hair, cracking or broken ends, caused by dryness.
It takes care of the scalp by returning a balanced pH, that is, if your hair is oily or dry at the root, either due to poor nutrition, medical treatment, a hormonal change due to pregnancy or menopause, regulates and normalizes it.
The Importance of Adding Liquid Vitamin B Complex to Your Chebe Powder Mix
B vitamins are typically grouped, because there are many of them. Many naturals tend to use Biotin alone for hair growth and completely ignore all other B Vitamins. The problem with this method is that there are different B Vitamins that help with hair growth and using only one can deplete other essential vitamins the body needs for healthy hair growth. For example Riboflavin is needed to help keep your skin healthy and strong. Hair loss may occur in people deficient in riboflavin.
It is also very rare for people to have a deficiency in Biotion, so always opt for a B Vitamin complex. You can also eat foods that are rich in these vitamins, or buy shampoos and conditioners that contain them to accelerate hair growth.
The Best Natural Hair Growth Regimen When Using Your Chebe Powder Mix
From our research, we have concluded that the main reason why the Basara Arab women in Chad have long hair, is due to the following factors:
* First and foremost, their protective styling methods keep their hair moisturized for longer. Braiding is the best method of growing natural hair fast as this keeps oils locked into the hair, thus retaining moisture. Additionally, hair is less exposed to harsh environmental elements. Hair that is kept protected over a long period of time is more likely to grow long.
* Secondly, moisturizing hair regularly (every 5 days) helps to keep their hair nourished.
* In addition to protective styling and moisturizing, genetics may also play a role in why their hair is long. The women of the Sahel region tend to have looser hair textures than other black African tribes, which means they have an easier time retaining length.
For people with Type 4 hair, length retention is essential. Try using the African threading or banding method if you want to avoid stretching your hair with a blow dryer.
